This is another installation in our Teacher Blogger feature, here is a profile of Free Tech 4 Teachers.
When it comes to educating students in classrooms, teachers can use all the helpful resources they can get their hands on. No two students are alike and it would be irresponsible for teachers to refuse to accommodate the different ways in which kids absorb and retain information. Because of this, Richard Byrne created FreeTech4Teachers.com, an online directory for free resources that teachers can use in their classrooms.
The information from Byrne’s website is not only invaluable, but award-winning. From 2008-2010, FreeTech4Teachers won the Edublog Award for Best Resource Sharing Blog. In 2011 and 2012, the site was also recognized as Best Ed Tech Blog. FreeTech4Teachers was also recently awarded Edublog Awards for Best Ed Tech Support and Best Individual Blog.
With a readership of 58,000 subscribers, FreeTech4Teachers is a must-read site for educators at all levels.
“I believe that when used correctly, technology has the power to improve student engagement and student achievement,” Byrne wrote on his website. “I also believe that technology gives teachers the ability to form powerful, global, professional learning communities.”
The Internet has not only made the world smaller, but has also made communication and collaboration a much easier task. Today, teachers can go online to find resources and tools that can positively impact student development, while making learning fun and exciting.
