Description: The Second Language Acquisition for TESOL course provides a comprehensive survey of the theory and research base of second language acquisition. Some topics will include the Critical Period Hypothesis and bilingual education. Particular attention is given to the influence of research trends in linguistics and psychology on second language education theory and practice. Current trends in second language education are examined in light of the historical theory base.
