Description: The Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorder course is designed to give you a grounding in the basic issues and current trends related to autism identification and intervention.

We’ll start out by examining the wide range of characteristics and challenges among children and youth with ASD. Then we will consider some of the issues associated with ASD classification and diagnosis today. Finally, we’ll explore a range of evidence-based practices and strategies for promoting and supporting behavioral and social skill development among learners with ASD.
